Individual Therapy

The Basics

Sessions are typically 55-minutes and take place either in the office or via telehealth.

Frequency is a collaborative conversation! Weekly sessions are recommended when beginning therapy so that we can develop a strong working alliance.

Initially we will do a lot of talking. I will learn about what brought you to therapy and you will learn what its like to chat with me. If you are interested, we will also incorporate some of the options below!

Unique Options

EMDR

EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) is an 8 phase treatment that helps clear stuck experiences. This process connects the past to the present and helps build more adaptive narratives surrounding challenging events.

Projective Imagery

Projective Imagery gives us some new perspectives on areas of our work together. This could include tarot or oracle cards, Inner Active Parts cards, or other art that we identify that fits your needs.

Parts Work

Do you ever argue with yourself when making a decision? We can use those inner parts to explore some of the challenges and unmet needs that are holding you back.

Buttons, crayons, playdoh, cartoon figurines

Do you want to draw, paint, journal, toss a ball, bring in your entire collection of Squishmallows, tarot cards, or Legos? I'm here for it! I want to join your process, whatever that means for you.  Lets get creative and weird and inspired!

Therapy can get messy!

Maybe you’ve been in therapy before and had a tough experience. Maybe you felt misunderstood, judged, rushed, or like you were supposed to fit into someone else’s idea of what therapy should look like. I get it. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find a therapist and a space that feel safe enough to do the real work.

Or maybe you’ve never been to therapy because you’re afraid of what might happen if you start opening that can of worms. What if it makes things worse? What if you uncover something you’re not ready to deal with?

If you're ready, I invite you to pack up that can of worms and bring it with you. We can open it together, one worm at a time, and figure out what needs attention now, what can wait, and what maybe doesn't need to be opened at all.

Therapy doesn’t have to mean diving headfirst into the deepest, darkest parts of your story. You get to set the pace. We’ll work together and make sure you have the tools and support to navigate the messy parts.

I’m ready to be in the mess with you.
